Know Your Skin Type

Knowing your own skin type is vital as it helps you decide what product to buy. For example, if you have oily skin and you buy a moisturizer made for dry skin, it will worsen your skin problem. To help you in selecting the most appropriate products for your skin type, we have put together the following skin type guides for you.

Normal Skin
If you haven’t had any noticeable shiny, acne or irritated skin, you probably have normal skin. However, having normal skin doesn't mean that you don't have to look after it, as you will want to keep it that way. Unless a product states otherwise, most skincare items can be used by men with normal skin.

Dry Skin
Your face feels tight and your skin is slightly rough to the touch. Dry skin is more prone to irritations and you may also experience a little flaking of skin. If you don’t look after it, dry skin may result in premature wrinkling.

Oily Skin
Oily skin usually has a shine to it and your pores, especially in the T-zone area, are larger than other skin types. Oily skin is most prone to pimples, blackheads and whiteheads due to an overproduction of oil by your skin.

Sensitive Skin
Sensitive skin can have allergic reactions to some skincare or shaving products, and is usually especially sensitive to the sun, wind, and cold weather. You know you have sensitive skin if your face gets red easily after touching or drying it with a towel. It is best that you look for products that are specially formulated for sensitive skin.

Combination Skin
Combination skin is not uncommon. You have dry patches and oily patches on your face at the same time, normally characterised by an oily T-zone (your forehead and down your nose to your chin) and a relatively drier areas on the face, but it can differ. You will find that some areas are more prone to spots and will be oily, while other areas can be quite dry.
